Hello readers! I’m Katie and today I’m joining the food conversation here at The Happy Mouth! I’ve taken on this new obsession with popcorn. I don’t mean the Orville Redenbacher kind. I mean the freshly-popped-no-butter-free-for-my-personal-seasoning kind. I’ve done three different flavors in the past two days. I told you: obsession.
Here they are, in order from not-as-good to HOLD CRAP WHAT DID I JUST PUT IN MY MOUTH?
1. Buffalo-style popcorn
I used this recipe, but didn’t include the corn chips nor peanuts. You will learn that I rarely ever follow directions. Make sure that as you make the sauce, DON’T let it boil or it will get clumpy and gross. And make sure not to drizzle as much as I did or else the popcorn will get soggy.
Rating: I’m glad I tried it.
2. Spiced popcorn
I used this recipe, but didn’t include the ground cumin just for the fact that I didn’t have it in my kitchen. But I’m sure it will taste even better when YOU do! Just don’t exclude the cinnamon — it gives the flavor an awesome kick of sweet in that super spicy mix.
Rating: That recipe is going in my weekly snack mix.
3. Sesame Ginger popcorn
I used this recipe, but didn’t include the vanilla or baking soda. I’m not sure what the baking soda would add but I’m sure the vanilla would make it even more incredible. Also, I don’t like using corn syrup so I keep this alternative handy. I would recommend this mix like mad crazy. I will definitely add more ginger in next time, but I have another weird obsession with ginger…
